The negotiations on the creation of a representation of the British insurance company “WAGAS” within FEZ “Grodnoinvest” were conducted. The businessmen were acquainted with the conditions of the investment activity in free economic zone “Grodnoinvest”. Issues on the attraction of Byelorussian partners for the realization of joint projects were considered.

The representatives of the mass media visited free enterprises-residents of FEZ: foreign enterprises “Edmundas and Co”, “Danacap plus” and “Mebel-Neman” Ltd. They got to know the perspectives of the investment activity of the free economic zone. |

The head of the representation Mr. Smilkovich and the members of the delegation conducted the negotiations on financing the investment projects which are set for the realization in FEZ “Grodnoinvest”. As a result of the negotiations letter of intent between the administration of FEZ “Grodnoinvest” and the representation of Slovenian company was signed.

Questions on the creation of a technological park “Business Info-Center” and its interaction with the enterprises-residents of FEZ “Grodnoinvest” and also attraction of American and Western European investments into Grodno regions were discussed. |

On June, 2 the administration of FEZ "Grodnoinvest" conducted the talks with the representative of Posnan association of entrepreneurs (Republic of Poland) Mr. Jerzy Ugrynowicz.

It was agreed that a delegation of FEZ “Grodnoinvest” would visit the town of Posnan and make a presentation for the representatives of the Polish business. The parties are going to prepare and sign an agreement on cooperation aiming at the participation of Polish companies in the realization of the investments projects in FEZ “Grodnoinvest”. |

On June, 9 the Head of the State Alexander Lukashenko signed the edict N 262 “On some issues regarding the activities of free economic zones on the territory of the Republic of Belarus” |

The document determines equal special legal treatment for all FEZs (customs, tax) for a long period of time and also responsibility of the managing subject for violation of the working conditions in those zones.
The document stipulates reorganization of free economic zones according to territories in order to exclude unfit and not used land plots and possible inclusion of land plots which have engineering infrastructure and space more than 50 hectares into FEZ.
Development of the land plots of the free economic zones which are less than 50 hectares is stopped. The legal framework of FEZ at those territories is limited to 5 years. If necessary this period can be prolonged by the decision of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
General control over the activity of FEZ is assigned to the Government, Committee of the State Control, corresponding regional committees and Minsk city committee.
The administration of FEZ “Grodnoinvest” is given the status of the republican legal entity in the form of the establishment which conducts its authorities within the frames of the Statute affirmed by the Government.
The document determines comprehensive list of tax payments which will be paid by the residents of all FEZs with the equal rates.
Besides, the document says that the special legal treatment is extended only to the production of own manufacture of the FEZ residents if it is exported and to the import substitution goods according to the list coordinated with the President of the Republic of Belarus.
The corresponding regulation of the Government has already been coordinated with the Head of the State and will be passed by the Council of the Ministers in the near future.
The adoption of this edict will facilitate the creation of equal conditions for the development of the free economic zones, compact allocation of their residents, attraction of investments, creation of new work places, implementation of new technologies, intensification of the export potential of the country.

On June, 20, 2005 the administration of FEZ "Grodnoinvest" registered as a FEZ resident a new foreign enterprise "AW-Wood and Glass" with 100 % of Polish capital. |

According to the investment project the construction of a plant is planned which will major in the manufacture of granular bio fuel, growing of fast-growing wood and shrubby breeds such as pussy-willow, Pennsylvania mallow.
Total volume of the declared investments comprises 1000 thousand USD. |

On June, 21, 2005 the administration of FEZ "Grodnoinvest" registered as a FEZ resident a foreign private production unitary enterprise "Sipa-Invest" with 100% of the Italian capital. |

The investment project stipulates the construction of a plant on the manufacture of thermokinetic heaters.
The amount of the declared investments comprises 5 mln. USD. |

From June 22 till June 24 chief of the department for the investments and FEA of the administration of FEZ “Grodnoinvest” Semion Sergejchik was on a business trip in Poland and in Germany. |

He visited the above countries as a member of the official delegation of Grodno regional committee.
During the visit the delegation conducted the negotiations with the management board of the Polish companies “Ekosystem” and “Speranda 1” (recycling of polyethylene waste products into wide fractions).
Agro-company in Luszyń which majors in the growing of pheasants and rendering of agro tourist's services is planning to establish an analogous manufacture in Grodno region.
In Germany the delegation got to know the technology of the growing of the sturgeon and manufacture of caviar at the industrial company-aquarium “Caviar creator”. Stat-of-the-art technology makes it possible to produce 220 tons of sturgeon meat per year an 10 tons of high quality of black caviar.
Examination of the technological line of the recycling of all kinds of waste products into high quality diesel fuel evoked peculiar interest on the part of the delegation.
The proof of the high quality of the diesel fuel is the fact that Professor Koch filled up the tank of his own BMW with the fuel gotten as a result of the recycling of the waste products at the technological equipment KSD 500 and covered the distance of 484 kilometers.
The production capacity of the technological equipment KSD 500 comprises 500 liters of the high quality diesel fuel per one hour.
